Privacy Policy
Last updated: to be confirmed at launch
Draft — for solicitor review
This policy is drafted to the Australian Privacy Principles as a starting point and has not been settled by a solicitor. Adopt an APP-compliant policy now (you collect emails/leads and run payments) and have it finalised before public launch.
1. Who we are
My Reno HQ Pty Ltd (“MyRenoHQ”, “we”, “us”) provides design, software and platform services for homeowner-managed renovation. We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. What we collect
Depending on how you use our Services, we may collect: your name and email address; your state/territory and project details; account and authentication data; communications with us; and payment-related information processed by our payment provider. We collect this directly from you (for example when you request the Reno Guide, create an account, or contact us) and automatically through standard website analytics.
3. Why we collect it
We use your information to provide the Services, respond to enquiries, deliver the resources you request, operate and improve the platform, process payments, and — where you have consented — send you marketing about MyRenoHQ. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time (see “Marketing” below).
4. Collection notice
Where we collect your email or other details through a form, that form links to this policy so you know what we collect and why before you submit. Providing your information is voluntary, but we may be unable to provide a requested resource or service without it.
5. Disclosure
We may disclose your information to service providers who help us operate (for example hosting, email, analytics and payment providers), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information. Some providers may store data outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the APPs.
6. Marketing & the Spam Act
We send marketing emails only with your consent (an express opt-in). Every marketing message identifies us as the sender and includes a working unsubscribe link, consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.
8. Access, correction & complaints
You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
