1. About these terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the MyRenoHQ website, the Renovation Library, and the MyRenoHQ platform and services (together, the “Services”), operated by My Reno HQ Pty Ltd (“MyRenoHQ”, “we”, “us”). By using the Services you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. General information, not advice
The Renovation Library and related content are provided for general information only. They do not constitute professional, legal, financial, building, engineering or trade advice, and must not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a suitably qualified, licensed professional engaged for your specific project. See our Disclaimer for detail.
3. Licensed work
Electrical, plumbing, gasfitting and (in some states) waterproofing are regulated trades. Performing this work without the required licence is unlawful in Australia. You must engage licensed trades and obtain all required permits, certificates of compliance and inspections. You remain responsible for compliance with your state or territory’s owner-builder and building framework.
4. Accuracy and currency
Regulatory thresholds, standards and costs vary by state and territory and change over time. While we aim to keep content accurate, we do not warrant it is current, complete or applicable to your circumstances. Verify all regulatory requirements with the relevant authority.
5. Costs, savings and estimates
Any costs, savings, timeframes or payback figures are indicative estimates based on typical projects at the time of writing. Actual results depend on your location, scope, product choices and trades, and may differ significantly. They are not a quote or a guarantee of savings.
6. Our role
MyRenoHQ provides design, software and platform services. We do not employ trades, run building sites, or guarantee the work of third-party trades introduced via the platform. Any contract for building work is between you and the relevant trade.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyRenoHQ excludes all liability for any loss, damage, cost or injury arising from use of, or reliance on, the Services or their content. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for a failure to comply with such a guarantee can be limited, it is limited (at our option) to re-supplying the relevant content or service, or paying the cost of doing so.
8. Intellectual property
The Services and their content are owned by or licensed to MyRenoHQ and are protected by copyright. You may view and print content for your own personal, non-commercial renovation use. You must not reproduce, redistribute or commercialise the content without our written permission. Third-party product and brand names are the property of their respective owners.
9. Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. [To be confirmed with your solicitor.]
